AKA Pen/broadcasting/professional name since1980: My McCormick surname was made legal in 1997 and retained throughout my marriage to Danny Roberts. AKA Ardriana Cahill is another AKA pen name I use. (Both surnames are family maiden names)
I was born in Las Vegas to a mother who was a journalist/author and father who was a Captain in the Air Force. I spent the first 10 years of my life traipsing around the country landing in New Jersey, Connecticut, New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming and Vegas. As a teen I also lived in Arizona and California.
I was briefly married as a teenager and was blessed with my son, William. I divorced and married Larry who adopted my son and we went on to adopt our daughter, Megan. We separated in 1992 and divorced as friends. Danny and I lived together for several years before we married, we had no children and divorced as friends.
My first job was working for a photographer and I have had a passion for photography ever since. I spent 10 years painting in oils from reference materials I photographed. Taking several secretarial jobs after the baby years were done, I went to college as an English/Communications Major and started working in radio news. I was also publishing poetry and short stories along with my reporting credits. I earned a news internship at a local TV station which turned into full time work as a reporter/producer. After six years, I took some time off to write a novel (unpublished) and published several short stories and poems. I then worked at a local cable TV provider writing for the public TV channel, doing Public Relations and commercial development. I then took time off to start a business with my artist husband, Danny, and owned an art gallery for nearly a decade. I still write professionally, as a reporter for small art press, ghost writing for blogs and writing artist bios and website content. I have continued my photography both for pleasure and professionally shooting, digitizing, color correcting and archiving fine art for print or giclée production. I was also a fine art printer for several artists.
