A Lithuanian man named Julijonas Urbonas has come up with the idea of a “euthanasia coaster”.
He drew up the plans in 2010 naming it “a hypothetic death machine in the form of a roller coaster, engineered to humanely – with elegance and euphoria – take the life of a human being.”
Urbonas describes himself as an artist, designer, researcher, engineer and the founder of the Lithuanian Space Agency.
Julijonas resurfaced again thanks to a TikToker named Luke Davidson who shared a video focusing on the rides’ design.
“You can only ride this roller coaster once,” explains Davidson.
“It’s capable of holding up to 24 passengers.”
“Once they’re all on board there’s a slow ascent to the top, which is 510 feet in the air.”
“That’s just a little bit smaller than the tallest building in America.”
“Once they’re at the top, it gives everyone the decision to stop and go back down safely. After that, everyone has to manually press a button to start the ride.”
Urbonas explains on his website that the “intensive motion elements induce various unique experiences.”
“Euphoria to thrill, from tunnel vision to loss of consciousness to eventually death”
Although it would never be legally allowed the public seems to have very mixed reviews.
“If I had dementia or was terminal, I’d ride this bad boy” one added
“How sick are some people? I don’t know if this would kill but the whole concept is beyond disgusting.” Another said.
